PXE-T01: File not found – PXE-E3B: TFTP Error – File not Found

Scenario:

When Client machine try to boot from PXE to connect to Image Server (WDS, ConfigMgr), error message “File not found” may occure.

Note: For Network Boot user can press F12

Error Messages: PXE-T01: File not found and PXE-E3B: TFTP Error – File not Found

Solution:

Make sure the following files exist in the <driveletter>RemoteInstallOSChooserI386 folder:

  • NTLDR
  • Startrom.com
  • Startrom.n12

If files don’t exist or damaged, you can copy them eather from Installation CD or from   SystemRoot%System32Reminst folder.

Note: To replace the NTLDR file, copy the %SystemRoot%System32RemInstOschoice.exe file to the <driveletter>RemoteInstallOSChooserI386 folder then rename it to NTLDR.
